The 2026-27 program will commence on Tuesday, September 15th, 2026, then proceeding weekly with rehearsals on Tuesday evenings. The choir’s December concert will take place on Tuesday, December 8th. The choir will break for the holiday season and resume again in early January, roughly following the school calendar through to May.

Our director, Laurelle Czaplinski, will be away on maternity leave till January, and we are excited to welcome Sara Clefstad as our guest director in Laurelle’s absence. Sara is a wonderful musician and educator. We look forward to seeing how the young voices in the choir will grow under Sara’s leadership.

The choir is open to all children and youth between the ages of 8-16. No prior singing or choral experience is required. Note, however, that our programming is ambitious and our aspirations high. Sara may request, early in the fall, to meet briefly and individually with choristers to gauge starting ability and level of comfort. There will be opportunities for individual parts in the music. Prompt arrival at rehearsals and consistent attendance is expected of everyone.

Tuesday Rehearsals

• 5:45 – Arrival for rehearsal which will begin promptly at 6:00.
• 6:00 – 7:30 – Rehearsal.  Each rehearsal will contain a 10-15 minute break for the singers to get to know each other and/or rest.
• 7:30 – Singers are dismissed.

Performances and schedule

There will be at least two concerts, one in December and one in late April or early May. There will be at least two Saturday rehearsals in the weeks leading up to the respective concerts. The schedule for all rehearsals and concerts will be posted in September.

Fees

The fee is $300 for the full program. Please note, however, that this program is intended for all who wish to participate. If the fee is prohibitory, please contact us, and we will make alternate arrangements. Fees will be collected in early October. We do this to ensure that families who are undecided about the program in September have the opportunity to participate in a few rehearsals prior to making a commitment.
